Hi. About the last picture, well, I'm Brazilian and this is a Carnival Parade.
It takes place on the streets of my entire country and the biggest ones happen in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
In these cities there is a competition between the Escolas de Samba (something like Samba schools).
The Parade happen and then the one with the best presentation wins.
That's it! ^^
By the way, your blog is great. Keep up with the good work :)
Its called Mardi Gras, a festival celebrated in Brazil xD
